The Peterson Fire burning northwest of Las Vegas off Highway 65 near the Peterson Reservoir in San Miguel County, is now 50% contained. The fire remains estimated at 30 acres, and structures are no longer threatened. Firefighters will continue to secure containment lines and mop-up spot fires this evening in preparation for high winds Sunday and Monday. Approximately 45 personnel are working to suppress this fire. The cause remains under investigation.
