The Paradise Loop Fire in Edgewood is 65% contained and estimated at 52 acres. Structures are no longer threatened, and evacuations have been lifted. Firefighters worked through the night to secure containment lines in preparation for the high winds forecast for today and Monday. Crews will continue to mop up hot spots throughout the day.
Smoke may be visible from the interior of the fire. Individuals sensitive to wildfire smoke should take precautions and use the New Mexico Department of Health 5-3-1 Visibility Method to determine if it’s safe to be outside. Learn more at
