Cause: Unknown, Under Investigation
Date/Time Detected: March 3, 2022 at 4:30 pm
Location: Off Forest Service 120A road northeast of Ruidoso.
Firefighting Resources: 2 engines, 1 hotshot crew and county firefighters
Evacuations: None
Values at Risk: Private land and homes are approximately ½ mile from the fire, although no structures are threatened at this time.
Vegetation Type: Grass and pinon-juniper
Fire Update: Two engines and 1 hotshot crew are responding to the Blue Fire, off the 120A road approximately 2 miles northeast of Ruidoso, New Mexico. Forward progress of the fire has been stopped at 2 acres. Firefighters will work to put out hotspots into the evening. The fire is creating visible smoke in the area and is burning in grass and pinon-juniper trees.
