Gila National Forest – Final Update: Gordon Fire/Reserve Ranger District


Location:  Two miles south of Rancho Grande Estates, Reserve Ranger District, Catron County, NM

Start Date: May 7, 2020                 Size:  12 acres         Cause:  Under Investigation

Vegetation:  Ponderosa Pine       Containment:  Expected 5/8/20

Resources:  Gila Interagency Hot Shot Crew (IHC) and FS Engines – E661 and 662.

Summary:  The Gordon Fire is burning on National Forest Systems land on the Reserve Ranger District, Gila National Forest.  The fire has been lined and is expected to be contained this afternoon. Two Type 6 engines and the Gila IHC are working on mopping up and securing the perimeter.
