Fire Update: Fire activity on the Dark Canyon Fire is low with the fire smoldering and burning mostly in stump holes and ground fuels within the fire’s interior. The fire has not grown over the past three days, but more accurate mapping determined the total acres is now 3,070. Fire crews are confident the fire will stay within the established control lines, but will continue to periodically monitor the fire over the coming days. The fire will continue to produce smoke for several days as woody debris continues to smolder and go out. The fire experienced light precipitation last night, but the moisture burned off quickly with the high temperatures from the last few days.

More Info: This will be the last update for the Dark Canyon Fire unless there is significant change in fire behavior.
