Update: Escondida Fire in Socorro County Saturday, June 11, 2016, 6:14 PM The Escondida Fire in Socorro County is reportedly 27% contained. The containment is along the southern and western sides of the fire. Resources are continuing suppression efforts. There has been light rain in the area.

Update: Escondida Fire in Socorro County Saturday, June 11, 2016, 2:25 PM After an aerial survey, it is estimated that the Escondida Fire in Socorro County has burned 540 acres, a reduction in the previously reported size. Power in the area has resumed. Access to Hwy. 408 has been reopened. Resources are continuing suppression efforts.

Fire crews have completed the Area 74 Prescribed Fire on the Black Range Ranger District with 9,400 acres accomplished. Personnel are patrolling the project while fuels continue to smolder until consumed.
