Citing lack of moisture and serious winds, the Village of Capitan has issued a ban on all local open fires inside village limits. A notice warning of the fire danger, signed by Capitan Mayor Dennis Haskell, has been distributed to local residents. #NMFire

The Dark Fire 6 miles south of Cloudcroft, NM is now 100% contained. The approximately 7 acre fire started just before 11:30 Friday (01/19) morning on private land near Dark Canyon and Highway 130.
