Around 40 personnel are committed to the Sisters Fire, two miles northeast of Pinos Altos. Two helicopters, one airtanker, engines and hotshot crew working to contain the fire. Estimated 10 acres. Cause is under investigation.

New Fire Start – a 20-acre fire was reported Tuesday morning, May 16, at 3:30 a.m., in the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Las Cruces District.  The Ring Fire is located in the vicinity of Cox Ranch.  Bureau of Land Management, White Sands Missile Range, and Fort Bliss resources are on scene.
